of Mary's Place
Sixteen Northwest artists were introduced to sixteen homeless and formerly homeless women from Mary's Place. Each artist had the privilege of listening to the stories of hope and courage in the face of daily challenges, and then creating a portrait for one of these women.

Church Seattle
The
Church of Mary Magdalene lives in the basement of First United Methodist
Church, located at 811 Fifth Avenue. First United Methodist is a
Christian community in the heart of Seattle, active and diverse, growing
through faith, gathered to celebrate and demonstrate unconditional love
of God for all creation.
Interfaith Task Force on Homelessness
The basic
goals of the ITFH are “to provide a vehicle for the religious community to exert
moral leadership among leaders in the public, business, nonprofit, and private
sectors, and to exhort these leaders to form regional solutions that end
homelessness and create affordable supportive housing.”
We are
proud to work with other faith communities in this common task. Our pastor, Rev.
Pat Simpson, was formerly co-chair of the Task Force.
Church Council of Greater
Seattle
The
Church Council of Greater Seattle brings hundreds of Protestant and
Roman Catholic Churches, thousands of volunteers and numerous religious
organizations together to serve at risk youth, the elderly, the homeless
and hungry; to advocate for global peace and racial and economical
justice and to encourage ecumenical and interfaith cooperation.
The Sharehouse
The
Sharehouse is a free furniture bank for formerly homeless individuals
and families in the greater Seattle area.
